Ensure that your filtration is always running while adding. Let it run for at least 24 hours to allow the salt to mix thoroughly with the water. After that, you can switch on the salt electrolysis system. Your salt system will then split this into sodium and chloride. This chloride is the natural chlorine / disinfectant for the pool. This splitting process is also an infinite chemical cycle.
