Why a good soil is important?
Nice tubs, plenty of jets, a beautiful waterfall.....
We notice that many people don't look much further when purchasing a spa. What is often overlooked is the base the spa stands on. Just like the foundation of your house, it is invisible but very important.

The photo above shows the underside of a spa that has completely rotted away. At the top arrow, you can see the base beam, the foundation, which has completely rotted through; the bottom arrow points to one of the pumps that is clearly visible through the bottom—this is, of course, not how it should be. Apart from the spa's structure, there is no longer any insulation via the base either. Because everything started to sag, there were many leaks in this spa.
This spa is built with a wooden frame, and the only protection is a plastic sheet stapled to the underside of the frame.
We always advise choosing a spa with a plastic base pan (not just a sheet) and a plastic or metal frame. The lifespan of your spa will be much longer.
If you purchase a spa with a wooden frame, always ensure it is positioned so that there is some ventilation, allowing the frame to dry if it gets wet. So, not in a pit or directly on the ground.
HotSpring Highlife tubs are made entirely of plastic, and all Aquavia tubs are equipped with a plastic base pan and a steel frame.
